Around The World In 80 Days - Episode 8

Proud and happy to have worked on Around The World In 80 Days - Created by Ashley Pharoah, Caleb Ranson Produced by Slim Film + Television (Simon Crawford Collins), Federation Entertainment (Lionel Uzan, Pascal Breton)
This was my second professional project and my first experience in an episodic production.
I am therefor very proud that MPC Film & Episodic won a Digital Creation Genie award for best VFX in a TV Fiction.

Under the supervision of Christophe 'Tchook' Courgeau, and with the help of the amazing environment team in Paris, we got to take shots from conception to finish. I am particularly happy that we got a lot of freedom to propose concepts and compositions for the shots.

I got to work on recreating New York's bay and docks, complete with a mid-construction Brooklyn bridge. I was part of the concept phase, and then responsible for the layout, environment building and lighting, as well as some modelling and shading.
I also helped for the boat-side shots, helping light the CG set extension of the boat.
We spent some time researching New York in the show's era, and making sure to be faithfull to history, while acheiving esthetically pleasing shots. We then expiremented various compositions to acheive the best look for each shot.
A master 3D scene was assembled, and the appropriate lightings for each shot made. Each 3D render was then sent to photoshop for some matte painting.
We may not have made the effects for this show in only 80 days, but I'm still very proud of what we acheived!
